What is this all about?
Imagine combining the action of a major sporting event such as football and the rhythm of a rock and roll concert, but with a mechanical engineering twist. The FIRST Robotics Competition provides an educational and engineering environment for students to learn skills that aid in future job placement. It couples international teams made of students and professional engineers to overcome design and functionality obstacles. FIRST’s competition brings out the competitiveness of life with the fun of learning.

When is the competition taking place?
This year will mark the eleventh annual regional event at the Del Mar Arena in beautiful Del Mar California. It will be held on March 9th - 11th, 2017 and the doors will open at 8:00 am. The event only comes once a year so be sure to attend! Come down and see the thrilling event where sheer brain power coupled with ingenuity cause ordinary students to become extraordinary engineers.

Where is the event being held?
The Regional event is being held at the Del Mar Arena , located at 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar, California 92014.

Who can attend?
The San Diego Regional FIRST Robotics Competition is open to the public and is free to all. Bring your parents, friends, teachers, principals, and people that work in the many fields of Science, Technology, and Engineering to enjoy this great event. Come on by to see all the action and cheer on our future technology leaders.

 FIRST STEAMWORKS,SM the 2017 FIRST Robotics Competition game, invites two adventure clubs from an era in which technology relied on steam power to prepare their airships for the ultimate long distance race.
